A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, disqualified Tony Nwoye, as the PDP candidate for Anambra governorship election.

Nicholas Ukachukwu who came second in the primaries organised by the PDP, had filed a suit asking the court to recognize him as the PDP's candidate for the Anambra governorship elections.

Justice Suleiman Aliyu, presiding judge while delivering the judgement said that Nwoye was not eligible to participate in the November 16 governorship poll in Anambra on grounds of irregularity in his tax payment as prescribed in the electoral guideline used for the PDP primaries.

Justice Aliyu also restrained Nwoye from parading himself as the party’s candidate for the governorship election in Anambra state. Justice Nwoye also asked the PDP and INEC to refrain from recognizing Nwoye as the party’s candidate in Anambra state.

The judge ordered ordered INEC to publish Ukachukwu’s name as the PDP candidate for the November 16 governorship election in Anambra state.
