World number two tennis player,Andy Murray on Thursday crashed out of the Rogers Cup in Montreal,Canada.
Ernests Gulbis overpowered the Brit player,in straight sets, defeating the Wimbledon Open champion 6-4 6-3 .
Murray missed the first chance of the match with two break points in game eight, but afterwards struggled to keep with the pace with his opponent.
“The thing that pleased me the most was that I won,” said Gulbis, after his victory over Murray.
Gulbis will now play against either Juan Martin Del Potro or Milos Raonic in the next round.
Murray on his part admitted that it was a difficult game for him:”I struggled in the first set from the baseline but got more confident and took my chances. I didn’t blink when serving out for the match but I didn’t play my best tennis. I hope I will be even better tomorrow.”
He will now focus on Cincinnati Masters, before defending his US Open title in New York later this month.
