Alhaji Umar Duhu, the Protem National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) (North-East), on Thursday in Yola told newsmen that the party was making steady headway as a grassroots party in the sub-region.

He said the party's progress in the zone was encouraging with the supporters eager for membership registration scheduled to begin this month.

He said he had begun the inauguration of interim committees to oversee the running of the party's activities in states and had already inaugurated those of Bauchi, Yobe and Taraba states.

Duhu urged members of the party to close ranks and be more accommodating in the general interest of the party.

He said the concern being shown by some stakeholders in Adamawa over the defection of Gov. Murtala Nyako to the APC with his supporters as normal.
