The newly formed political party in Nigeria All Progressives Congress, APC, seems to be having problems over who will be presented as the next presidential candidate for the party come 2015 election.
The party leadership favors having a younger and credible politician from the north for the post, but the former presidential candidate for Congress for Progressives Change, CPC, General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd), will not have any of that, he too had indicated his interest to run in the election as the party presidential candidate, and has also said that he will not step down for anybody.
This is contrary to an earlier agreed position, that neither Buhari nor Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the two most prominent among the founders of the party should take any elective office, so as to give the party a real new look.
