Suleiman Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila, Deputy minority leader of the House of Representatives and other chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano state have countered rumors which said they were planing to leave the party.

Since the defection of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the Kano state governor to the APC, the party has become rife with speculations that several chieftains were planing to defect.

Addressing newsmen, Sumalia said, "I learnt some people went to the radio and said we’re leaving APC because some people came into the party. Let me assure you, our teaming supporters, that we’re going nowhere. We cannot leave APC; we never contemplated leaving the party, not even when we have suffered to have the merger that will save our country".

He further reiterated the APC's commitment to providing effective leadership for Nigerians.
