Politics APC Governors Forum Sets Up National Secretariat

The Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) which comprises of Governors of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has set up a national secretariat in the Asokoro area of Abuja.

According to DAILY TRUST, since the merger the 11 governors in the APC have held meetings in their lodges rotating the venue according to who presides at a particular time with no permanent secretariat.

The association now known as the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) has governors, Kashim Shettima of Borno, Adams Oshiomohole of Edo, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Rochas Okorocha of Imo, Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos, Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun, Rauf Aregbesola of Osun, Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo, Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe and Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari of Zamfara as members.

The PGF has no chairman, the governors have maintained their position that the forum would not have a permanent chairman, but would operate a temporary system of leadership whereby any of the governors hosting the meeting would automatically preside as chairman.

Salihu M. Lukman has been appointed the Director General of the Forum, several staff have been employed to help run the secretariat.
