The Nasarawa state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a statement justifying the suspension of the Deputy Gov. Damishi Luka-Barau.
The statement issued by Mr Stanley Buba, APC Nasarawa interim chairman during a courtesy visit by the officials from Nimgon Buha ward in Akwanga Council Area said the suspension was legal and appropriate.
He explained that the punishment was to serve as deterrent to any APC loyalist who might think that he or she was above the law of the party.
Buba commended the courage of the Ward officials, saying that their visit had vindicated the party’s decision to suspend the deputy governor for anti-party activities.
Last Monday the APC suspended the deputy governor for anti-party activities on Monday, but a media report on Tuesday said APC officials of Nimgon ward did not support the suspension.
