Politics APC to Jonathan: Come Clean About $9.3m Controversy

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress APC has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to tell Nigerians what he knows on the circumstances surrounding the 9.3 million US dollars that was impounded in South Africa.

National Publicity Secretary of the party Alhaji Lai Mohammed, today in a press statement issued in Abuja said the issue had subjected Nigeria and Nigerians to a global ridicule and urged the presidency to address Nigerians on the matter.

“Military equipment and weapons are not bean cakes to be purchased by the road side. It is absolutely urgent for President Jonathan to clear the air on this alleged off-the-shelf equipment or arms purchase, which runs against all known protocol for such purchases anywhere in the world. There are globally-acceptable protocols for such purchases by governments, otherwise what differentiate a government from an insurgent group that is shopping for arms?” the party statement queried.
