Chief Iorember Aker, National Secretary of the Arewa National Movement has called for the immediate scraping of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and probing of her members and staff.

Aker made the call yesterday after a consultative meeting with stakeholders in Abuja.

Aker said, decried the use of the EFCC by the government to hound opposition. He claimed several Nigerians have fallen victims of the vindictive and selective arrests and interrogation by the EFCC. Notable amongst them, he said, was Demiprie Alayeimeighsia who was embarrassed by the EFCC during the third term bid of President Obasanjo, now honoured with a presidential pardon by a sitting president.

According to Aker, a former governor of Kwara State Dr. Bukola Saraki, now a ranking senator is been quizzed and interrogated by the anti-graft commission for financial fraud they alleged he committed before he became governor in 1999.

"This is an act of witch- hunting. That 14 good years after a financial crime is committed, the anti-graft agency just woke up from a dream and came after a statesman, a patriotic Nigerian and servant of his people to dent his promising political investment ahead of 2015".

This is no surprise. EFCC has been in shambles since the departure of Ribadu.
That's what happens in every society. Once a dog starts scaring it's owners friends, it's bound to be dealt with. This is the aftermath of the "dealing with".
