Argentine defender Marcos Rojo has given a hint that he is close to sealing a move to Manchester United.

Rojo last week was sanctioned by Sporting Lisbon after the player refused to train in order to force a move to the English side.

It is understood that United will pay £16m+ Nani going the other way to be able sign the 24-year old from the Portuguese club.

Rojo has been reported as saying that he is United bound, speaking up about the allure of playing under Louis Van Gaal.

"It's a dream to play at Manchester United and I am very proud of having the chance of working with Louis van Gaal," the 24-year-old is reported to have told Argentine radio station Continental.

"I spoke with Juan Sebastian Veron about Manchester United when we were at Estudiantes. I have always liked English football, and I should adapt to this new playing style easily."
