Metro Arraigned at Court for Squatting

Several people have been taken before the Ebute Meta Magistrate court for unlawfully occupying an abandoned police barracks in Lagos State. Atitebi Police Barracks, in the Ebute Mata area of the state had turned into a breeding place for rapists and hoodlums in the area.

The police have stormed the barracks several times, arresting the illegal squatters at the different times.

Only six of the arrested suspects have been taken to court over the issue. They are aged from 18 years of age to 51 years of age. They are charged on four counts of wilful damage, breach of peace and trespass.

The court has set bail at N50,000.
