Alexis Sanchez's second half amazing strike on Sunday has dashed the hopes of Manuel Pellegrini's Manchester City of making the top four. The gunners fought back from behind twice to end the game in a stalemate.

Kun Aguero opened the scoring in the first half with a fantastic shot that beat Petr Cech. Moments later, Giroud equalized from a corner, after City carelessly conceded a corner.

Kevin De Bruyne extended City's lead in the second half after dribbling through a myriad of Arsenal defenders, his accurately-placed shot beating Petr cech. Sanchez however canceled the goal after receiving a return ball from Giroud before slotting home past Hart.

City needed to secure maximum points from the game to ensure they qualify. They currently have 75 points. Their nearest rival, Manchester United, are two points behind with a game in hand. United play West Ham on Tuesday and host Bournemouth on the last match day. City however will travel to Swansea for their final game.

Arsenal on the other hand, is better poised for another ticket to next season's UEFA champions league. They are above fifth placed United with 5 points and play bottom placed Aston Villa in their final game.
