The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) ended a two-day National Executive Council Meeting (NEC) on Saturday in Kano with a resolve to keep mum until it met with President Goodluck Jonathan.

The meeting was held in a secret location away from their secretariat. It was supposed to be held two weeks ago but was postponed due to Iyayi's death, according to NAN reports.

According to a source who spoke to NAN, the votes on whether the strike should be ended or not was split 60-40% with the majority voting to end the strike.

President Jonathan is due to arrive on Sunday night from London.
