ASUU has refused to accept the N30bn offer made by the FG. According to Professor Aloysius Okolie, former Chairman of ASUU UNN branch, the striking Union will wait until the Government has money to meet their demands.

In his opinion, a well funded educational sector is the key towards achieving the vision 20:2020. He faults a government that pays senators huge amounts of salaries while neglecting the more vital education.

The Professor pleads for parents and students' understanding saying that the strike was for the benefit of every one.

He mentioned that students should have the proper infrastructure for learning and should not have to sit under trees and in stadiums to receive lectures. Libraries should be updated and students should have the proper laboratory materials.
