Sports Athletics: AFN shifts attention to African Junior Championship

Having come back from the World Athletics Championship in Moscow,the Athletics Federation of Nigeria(AFN) have now focused their attention on putting up an impressive performance at the African junior championships.
Nigeria will be taking part in the African junior championships,commencing from August 29- September 1 in Mauritius.
“The athletes are doing well in training. Judging from their mood, they want to go out there and compete,” one of the trainers,Mary Osifo was quoted to have said on Vanguard Sports.
“The six coaches and the athletes are taking training seriously. Everything is going well for us in camp,”Osifo added.
One of the athletes,Ese Brume was confident that she would win,at least three medals at the competition.
“I am not bothered about that now. I am going to Mauritius with the hope of winning three gold medals in the long jump and the sprints.”
“We and the coaches are working very hard to this end,” Brume added.
