Metro 'Auxiliary', Ex-Oyo NURTW Chief, Sentenced To 6 Years Imprisonment

Former National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW Chief, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi a.k.a 'Auxiliary' has been sentenced to 6 years imprisonment. Auxiliary was sentenced to 6 years in jail alongside four other allies by an high court sitting in Ibadan.

The accused persons, Mukaila Lamidi, Saidi Kareem, Taiwo Tijani (dead), Abu Kareem and Kazeem Kayode had been undergoing trial for the trouble in March, 2014 at the Iwo Road interchange, Ibadan which claimed many lives including that of Adekunle Oladipupo, a medical student of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Justice Eni Esan, who delivered the judgement said the accused persons were charged with a three-count charge of conspiracy, murder and attempted murder and thereby sentenced them to six years jail term without option of fine.
