Some members of the House of Representatives, on Thursday in Abuja, in separate interviews said that the resignation of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as PDP Chairman, would help in repositioning the party for 2015 general elections.

Rep. Uzor Azubuike (PDP-Abia), said that the decision by Bamanga to resign as the party chairman was patriotic and called on those who had defected to APC to make a rethink and come back to the party.

According to him, those who are thinking of leaving the party should join hands with the leadership of the party to move it forward.

Rep.Gerald Irona ( PDP-Imo) said that members of the party had had problems with the leadership style of Bamanga which led to the defection of the five PDP governors and others.

He said that his resignation was a good development for the party as it would save it from eminent danger.

The legislator noted that Bamanga's resignation was also a good omen for the party as it prepared for the 2015 general elections.

He urged those who left to come back before it will be too late.

Rep. Godfrey Gaiya ( PDP-Kaduna) said that Bamanga had done well as a party chairman and it was left for the person stepping into his shoes to play his own part.

He said that in spite of Bamanga's resignation which was not unexpected, the party would move from strength to strength.
