Justice Peter Affen of an Abuja high court sitting in Apo yesterday withdrew from adjudicating on the alleged forgery of a presidential directive suit by the federal government against two LEADERSHIP journalists.
The judge, who hails from Bayelsa State, the home state of President Goodluck Jonathan, stated that since there was a media report that there was a link between him and the president, who has a personal interest in the matter, he decided to hands off the case on the grounds of integrity and the need to preserve the sanctity of the judiciary.
