Politics Bayelsa: Why INEC Cancelled Election in Southern Ijaw

A PREMIUM TIMES report claims that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has has cancelled Saturday’s Bayelsa State governorship election in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa state.

Some reasons for the cancellation include : f violence, the abduction of electoral officials and ballot box snatching.

A new date is yet to be announced for the supplementary election.

This is rediculous! If INEC could not conduct hinge free election in a state with just 8 local government areas, how possible for it to conduct general election come 2019? All the elections conducted so far under this administration is inconclusive. Could this be change!

But sir, the reasons for cancellation were given. Officials were abducted, ballot boxes were snatched. If these are not enough reasons for elections to be cancelled, please let me know.
