A new judge, Justice Binta Nyako of the Abuja Federal High Court, has taken over the case filed by the Nigerian government against leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, made this known to newsmen on Friday.

Justice Nyako has fixed Tuesday, November 8, for hearing on a motion for bail filed by Kanu.

The new date however conflicts with an expected Judgement before the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Court earlier filed by Nnamdi Kanu against the Federal Government of Nigeria.

But the defendant’s lawyer said his team will work out ways to attend to both cases.

“My team will have to find a way to attend to both cases,” Ejiofor said.

Recall that Ahmed Mohammed, John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja had stepped down from the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra who has been in detention since October 2015.
