Suspected members of Islamist extremist group Boko Haram have attacked a village in Borno, killing at least 35 people and wounding 14, said defence spokesman Brigadier General Chris Olukolade.

Speaking with the AFP in Dumba today, he said the “Boko Haram people attacked the village on the ground that they have refused to cooperate with them, that they refused their message,”

The attack occurred on Monday 19th of August, but the information had not become public until today, Friday 23rd of August 2013 because the village is located in a remote area and the phone lines in the region had been cut.
