Sports Bolt in support of hair follicle testing

Athletics World record holder Usain Bolt has backed moves by the World Anti-Doping Agency(WADA) to introduce hair follicle testing which would help in catching drug cheats.

The Jamaican speaking to InsideTheGames said that he had “no problem” with the new initiative by WADA.

Eight Jamaican athletes tested positive to banned substances last year in the build-up to the World Athletics championship in Moscow.

Olympic gold medallists,Asafa Powell and Veronica Campbell-Brown were some of the big names who failed drugs test.

“This is the first I’m hearing it,” said the 27-year-old.

“But I think that anyway you can crack down on drug use in sports, I have no problem with it.

“If it’s a new rule and it’s a better way to clamp down on this, then I welcome it.”

Bolt will aiming to stretch his gold medals at the Olympics to more than six,when he takes to the tracks at the 2016 games in Rio De Janeiro.
