British Company Creates Device That Can Stop Vehicles with Electromagnetic Waves

E2V is a British company that has created a prototype device which can stop cars and other vehicles with a simple blast of electromagnetic waves.

The device, called the RF Safe-Stop makes use of radio frequency, a blast of which can ‘confuse’ your vehicle’s electronic system and force it to shut down its engine.

It is believed that this device will be primarily used by the military to protect sensitive spots from vehicles that refuse to stop. BBC reports that the police are also interested in the potential of the RF Safe-Stop. Personally, I think it is a better way that chasing down those errant one-way drivers in Oshodi.

I wonder what Vin Diesel and the rest of the Fast and Furious crew will make of this…
