Former governor of Yobe state and now Senator representing Yobe East Senatorial District, Bukar Abba Ibrahim has revealed that most former governors in the country have corruption related issues with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Ibrahim, who chairs the Senate Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, disclosed, in a chat with newsmen in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, that the ongoing trial of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, was being fueled by some persons from his home state of Kwara.

Ibrahim however said he is the only former governor who has never been invited or had any issue with the anti-graft agency.

“You know that there are so many other former governors who are in the same shoes with Saraki; whose trials have been initiated, but they were not publicised like that of Saraki, because he is the Senate president,” he said.

“Almost every former governor in the Senate with the exception of Bukar Abba Ibrahim has one case or the other with the EFCC or CCT”.
