Heavily armed attackers killed Burundi general Athanase Kararuza and wife while he was dropping his daughter at school in Bujumbara, Burundi.
BBC reports that the gunmen fired at General Athanase Kararuza’s car, killing him and his wife instantly. Their daughter survived the ambush but was injured and rushed to the hospital.
The assassinated General was also a security advisor to Burundi's vice-president.
