Danladi Umar, chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), has announced that he rule on Senate President Bukola Saraki’s application seeking the withdrawal of the judge from his trial, on October 5.
Ibrahim Alhassan, spokesman of the CCT, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
In June, Saraki, who is facing charges of false declaration of assets at the CCT, filed an application asking Umar to disqualify himself from the case.
The senate president cited bias on the part of Umar as the reason for his application.
After hearing the application, Umar adjourned to July for ruling, but he later postponed it.
