With this season's Champions League having concluded in dramatic fashion in Milan on Saturday, Goal takes a look back at the tournament as a whole and picks out the most disappointing performers...

DAVID OSPINA | ARSENAL: He started just three games - and all three ended in defeat, with the former Nice goalkeeper conceding eight times and gifting Olympiakos an own goal at the Emirates that lead to a loss that threatened Arsenal's qualification for the last 16.

DANILO | REAL MADRID: It is no coincidence that the Brazilian hadn't seen a minute of Champions League action since Los Blancos' 2-0 loss to Wolfsburg in the last eight before injury forced Dani Carvajal off in Saturday's final. Danilo had been dire in Germany, the €31.5 million signing from Porto given the run-around by Julian Draxler.

GABRIEL | ARSENAL: The Brazilian started in defence for the Gunners on four occasions this term. Arsenal lost every one, shipping 13 goals in the process.

ANTONIO RUDIGER | ROMA: Rudiger was one of those most responsible Roma’s defensive deficiencies, with the Stuttgart-owned centre-back turning in a particularly calamitous performance in the 4-4 draw at Bayer Leverkusen.

JESUS NAVAS | MANCHESTER CITY: Navas featured 10 times in total, failing to score a single goal and registering just one assist - a dismal but unsurprisingly poor return from the quintessential one-trick pony.

BASTIAN SCHWEINSTEIGER | MANCHESTER UNITED: Despite featuring in all six of United's group games, the German disappointed terribly, culminating in a dismal showing in the crucial clash with Wolfsburg that ended the Old Trafford outfit's interest in the competition.

YAYA TOURE | MANCHESTER CITY: He managed just one goal in 10 Champions League appearances and disappointed in every outing against elite sides such as Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

EDEN HAZARD | CHELSEA: Hazard didn't register a single goal during eight horribly underwhelming performances in the Champions League.

JUAN MANUEL ITURBE | ROMA: One of the biggest flops in recent Serie A history, the Argentine attacker was afforded six outings during this season's group stage. After no goals and no assists, Iturbe was sent out on loan to Bournemouth well before Roma's last-16 meeting with Real Madrid.

JACKSON MARTINEZ | ATLETICO MADRID: Jackson Martinez proved particularly profligate in the Rojiblancos' 2-1 loss at home to Benfica on matchday two and it was no surprise to see him offloaded to Guangzhou Evergrande halfway through the Spanish side's European campaign.

EDINSON CAVANI | PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN: True, he may have once again had to play second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but Cavani flattered to deceive throughout the French champions' European campaign.
