Metro Child Dumping in Bauchi, Court Remands 4

A Bauchi State Chief Magistrate’s court has remanded four suspects who allegedly dumped two children in Dumi stream, in Bauchi Local Government Area.

According to Vanguard News, it was recently reported that unknown persons in Bauchi dumped two children inside a stream. One of the children died while the other survived.

The four suspects including the parents of the children were arrested by the Police and arraigned in court.

Inspector Amos Ukpe,Police prosecutor, filed two separate cases over the incident. The children were reportedly dumped inside the stream in adherence to the instruction of one Sakina Ibrahim of Dajin Village in Tafawa Balewa Local Government who claimed to be a herbalist and told the two parents that their children were not normal human beings

Inspector Ukpe said: “When the herbalist in company of the parents took the children and dumped them inside stream in Dumi village, one of the children, Adamu Suleiman Danjuma (two years) survived and was rescued by good Samaritans while the other boy, Aliyu Suleiman Haruna (four years old) got drowned and died in the stream.

Mallam Dandada Ahmadu, ward head of Gwallaga in Bauchi State, reported the crime to the police.
