The Nigerian Security and Defence Corp in Akwa Ibom State, has rescued two children from being abducted by a former housemaid. The children, Temitope Olaoluwa, 8 years old, and Happiness Tayo, 12 years old, were rescued from a former driver, who was also a co-conspirator of the maid, who was allegedly taking the two children to Akpabuyo, Cross River State.

Temitope is the daughter of the former employer to the housemaid, while Happiness is the new maid. The former housemaid, Idara, had left her former employer because she felt that she was being mistreated.

The driver had driven the children to the Udua Ikpa market in Uyo, where they were to be given to a market woman with the intent of escorting them to Cross Rivers. They were subsequently rescued by one of the officers of the NSCD officers, Mr. Bernard Udo.
