Sports Chris Giwa blocked from taking control of the NFF

Chris Giwa was on Monday blocked from entering the headquarters of the Nigeria Football Federation.

Last week, Giwa obtained a court injunction that ousted Amaju Pinnick from the NFF Presidency.

A Federal High Court in Jos, ruled that the Pinnick led board disobeyed orders not to hold elections on September 30.

With the latest developments, it emerged that FIFA would have banned Nigeria last week but for the Super Falcons who were already in the finals of African Women's Championship(AWC).

Despite the threat of a ban, Giwa and his faction on Monday went to the NFF secretariat to take charge of the football federation, but they were locked out.

Giwa was said to have gone to the NFF headquarters to inaugurate some of his own committees, and resume duties as the president.

It is the latest in the series of crises that have engulfed the football federation since after the World Cup tournament.

World football governing body, FIFA is adamant that the only legitimate board they recognise is that of Amaju Pinnick.
