Nigeria- Mr. Chibueze Nwajiaku, the Secretary of the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), an NGO, in an interview with newsmen on Wednesday in Onitsha has appealed to striking university lecturers to go resume work while negotiation for improved funding of the universities continued.

Nwajiaku said the muscle-flexing between ASUU and the Federal Government was not in the best interest of the education sector.

"We join our voices to call on ASUU to call off its strike and return to the classroom immediately in the interest of our teeming student population.

"Negotiation is a continuous process, subject to review and evaluation.

"The enormous damage already caused by the protracted strike will take us a long time to recover’’, Nwajiaku said.

He stated that the current impasse should not be used as a tool to hold the promising future of thousands of university undergraduates to ransom.
