The Director of Social Communications, Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, Monsignor Gabriel Osu, on Sunday urged Nigerians to seek the common good of one another through attitudinal change.

Osu made the appeal while delivering a sermon at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Lekki in Lagos.

He also urged Nigerians to face 2014 with optimism.

According to him, attitudinal change toward love and peaceful co-existence must be paramount in the heart of the citizens.

“One thing needful in the life of every Nigerian is attitudinal change; we need a change of attitude in order for us to surmount evil in our society.

“We must strive to live harmoniously by being contented with what God has blessed us with.

“Our desire must be how to solve the current challenges in our society,’’ he said.

Osu urged Christians to shun materialism; adding that they should stop seeing God as a magician but a loving Father that would grant their requests only according to His purpose.

``Once we pray and believe, it is settled.

``The way God would answer it - whether by granting our request instantly, delaying it or outright refusal - is up to Him.

“We cannot question God or change His will,'' he said.
