The Catholic Priest of St. John of the Cross Parish, Mararaba in Nasarawa State, Rev. Raymond Hickey, on Sunday advised Nigerians to resolve their differences and reunite as the New Year approaches.

He reminded Nigerians of Pope Francis' Christmas message which said that peace, forgiveness, and reconciliation should be embraced by people of the whole world.

``The Pope’s message is a special blessing to the world and it also calls for prayers.

``The prayers of the Pope and that of many other adherents of the Christian faith across the globe were the greatest efforts that could bring about the reconciliation, forgiveness, and peace which the whole world and Nigeria need,’’ he said.

Hickey urged Nigerians to join the faithful to pray for forgiveness, reconciliation, humility and peace, because ``without humility, there will be no forgiveness’’.

He then prayed for all Nigerians to have the spirit of reconciliation and forgiveness, and also for Nigeria and the world to have peace in 2014.
