Following Nigeria’s qualification into Division 5 of the ICC World Cricket League,Nigerian Cricket coaches are delighted with the giant strides the sport is making in the country.
Nigeria on Sunday,alongside Jersey were the countries who moved up from Division 6 to 5 after defeating teams like Vanuatu and Argentina.
Rivers State Cricket team coach,Tonye Timimadi, said that the promotion into Division 5 would bring a lot of benefits to the game in Nigeria.
“Another benefit of the promotion is that Nigeria will now feature in more international competitions than before, and this will further help in exposing the cricketers to acquire better skills,” Timimadi told the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN)
Nigeria will next year be competing in the Division 5 league in Malaysia.
