Some traditional rulers in Kwara on Wednesday urged Nigerians irrespective of their faith to support governments at all levels in order to help alleviate the nation’s socio-economic challenges.

The monarchs urged citizens to give spiritual support in form of prayers to the leaders particularly during the Yuletide as they believe that recent political developments in the country called for prayers of the citizenry.

The traditional ruler of Omu-Aran, Oba Charles Ibitoye, said the support of the people would ensure good governance.

He advised the government on their part to see that youth empowerment is given priority.

``I think governments at all levels need to do more in the area of youth empowerment so that the youths can become more useful to themselves and the society.

``The rate at which youths engage in criminal activities across the country calls for a serious concern,” Ibitoye said.

Oba Abdulkareem Adasofegbe of Osi Community, in his message advised politicians to go by the rulebook of the game of politics.

He cautioned against heating up the polity, noting that the nation was passing through a difficult time.

``I think this is the only way our nascent democracy can be sustained and also ensure peace and progress in the country, especially as we approach the 2015 elections.’’

``This will go a long way in assisting government to achieve its development goals.’’
