Nigeria’s resort to foreign intervention over the rescue operation of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls was as a result of the inability of its communications satellite to track and locate the victims.

This disclosure was made by a delegate to the ongoing National Conference, Engr. Ezekiel Izuogu, yesterday, while addressing journalists at the venue of the conference on the outcome of a visit to the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NigComSat) by the Standing Committee on Science and Technology.

Izuogu, who is deputy chairman of the committee and the first Nigerian to manufacture a car, said it was impossible for the Nigeria Communication Satellite to rescue the abducted Chibok girls due to its lack of facilities, adding that the agency, NigComSat Ltd, is technically incapacitated to carry its responsibilities contrary to the expectations of Nigerians.
