There is confusion over the defection of ex Enugu state governor, Sullivan Iheanacho Chime to the All Progressive Congress, APC.

The media had been agog about his defection after APC South East Publicity Secretary, Hyacinth NgwuAn, announced on his facebook page announced that the ex-governor had joined the party.

However, the Chairman of APC in the State, Ben Nwoye, denounced the news.

"Sullivan Chime is not yet a member of APC‎. The Enugu state chapter of APC is not yet aware of his joining the party. It may have been an error from the publisher of the news. The publisher may have made mistake," he said on Friday.

“What is obtained is that‎ the state presents new party members to the world and not the zonal structure of the party as was reported.

“When I receive Chime‎, I will submit him to the South East zonal structure. We don’t work from up to down, we work from down to up.”
