A Tourism Consultant, Mr Taiwo Oluwafunso, on Friday said Nigeria’s tourism industry was still largely undeveloped due to lack of government commitment. Oluwafunso is the Project Coordinator of Twin Aid International, a non-governmental organisation.

According to him, the Federal Government should include tourism development in Nigeria’s image rebranding process. He noted that the tourism sector has not recorded much success over the years.

``The little gains being made in the tourism sector must be included in showcasing the prospects of the nation. This is what other governments have done to brand their countries by using social media platforms and other international television stations,’’ he said.

He urged owners of tourist sites in the country to create room for skills’ acquisition in business management.

``Our people should learn the latest ways of managing the tourism business, which deal with venture capital funding,’’ he added.
