Politics Corruption: Ex Niger Gov Babangida Aliyu Sent to Prison

The former governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, has been remanded in Minna medium prisons by a Minna High Court.

He was sent to prison on Tuesday alongside Umar Mohammed Nasko, the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in the 2015 election.

Both men were on Tuesday docked by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a six-count charge bordering on fraud.

The case is to be opened on June 12, 2017 and to be held day by day till June 16.

Both men can apply for bail on May 3rd, 2017.
