D’Tigers to depart for Afrobasket championship today

The Nigerian Basketball Federation(NBBF) have announced the list of twelve players selected to represent Nigeria at the forthcoming Afrobasket Championship in Abidjan,Ivory Coast.
D’Tigers was seeded as the top team in group D and will face Cameroon Mali and Congo DR in the group games.
Half of the team that represented Nigeria at the London 2012 Olympics made the contingent, to tournament which will commence this week.
The players selected for the tournament are: Alade Aminu, Al Farouk Aminu, Chamberlain Oguchi, Andy Ogide, Ben Uzoh, Gani Lawal, Jamaal Olasewere, Stanley Gumut and Stan Okoye,Richard Oruche, Ike Diogu and Olumide Oyedeji.
D’Tigers will depart for Abidjan on Sunday and will play for their first game on August 21 against Mali.
The best three teams after the tournament,will represent Africa at next year’s World Basketball Championship in Spain.
