Dangote has agreed to compensate families of victims of the March 18 violence at its cement factory in Gboko , Benue state, when Army officials killed about 7 youths of the community, Daily Independent says.

Following the intervention of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the management of Dangote Cement Factory, Gboko Local Government Area, Benue State, has agreed to pay compensations to the families of dead victims and injured victims who were attacked by the army officers attached to the factory.
It could be recalled that on March 18, this year, about seven youths were killed by the Army officers attached to guard the Dangote Cement Factory in the community with many others injured.
One of the victims, Terhile Jibor, who went to the back of the factory to defecate, was ordered by one of the soldiers to pick the faeces with his mouth.
However, his refusal to comply led to the solider shooting him in the mouth, an act that resulted in a protest by the youth of the community.
