Business Dangote, GTB, Others Among Nominees For African Business Awards

Forbes Richest Black Person, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Guaranty Trust Bank; the Nigerian Stock Exchange; and the managing director of Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics Base, Amy Jadesimi, are on the list of nominees for 2015 African Business Awards.

The Awards will be held on the eve of the African Leadership Forum, a high-level dialogue bringing together some of Africa's leading political and business actors.

The Dangote Group was nominated for the African Business of the Year along with four other companies. Alhaji Aliko Dangote himself is among the nominees for Business Leader Award.

The Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) and its chief executive officer, Oscar Oyenma, were nominated for the awards of Best Corporate Social Responsibility, Good Corporate Governance and Business Leader. Guaranty Trust Bank and Youngstars Foundation were also nominated along with the NSE for Good Corporate Governance.

The Managing Director of Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics Base, Amy Jadesimi, was also nominated for the award of the Most Outstanding Woman in Business. Another Nigerian-based company, Red Media, was also nominated for the African Business of the Year and Best Corporate Social Responsibility awards.
