There is currently a high demand for Dangote cement at the ongoing 25th Enugu International Trade Fair. A bag of the product was sold at N1, 660 against the N2, 000 and N2, 100 sold in the open market.

Some cement dealers said they got information about the sales promo from radio and rushed to buy the product.

A builder, Mr Boniface Ani, said that he decided to buy at the fair because of the high price of the product in the open market.

"I will make a lot of savings from buying at the fair. I will save a minimum of N400 per bag,’’ he said.

Mrs Oby Odega, a dealer, commended Dangote Company for embarking on the promo in order to help customers.

She, however, complained that the maximum sale of 20 bags per customer was discouraging and appealed to the company to increase it to between 50 bags and 100 bags for each customer.

In his reaction, the Marketing Manager of the company in Enugu, Mr Martins Esin, said that the company embarked on the promo to sensitize stakeholders on its new brand of cement called 42.5 Rapid.

Esin said that the company upgraded the quality of its cement from 32.5R to 42.5R or 3X, adding that the brand was three times stronger than what it used to be.

"The promo is just for awareness for people to test the product so that when they get to the market they will know the type of cement to buy", he said.
