Politics Delta Central Senatorial Bye-Election: APC Accuses PDP of Using Thugs to Intimidate Voters

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP of using thugs and security operatives to intimidate voters while preventing voting materials from reaching polling units in opposition strongholds during Saturday's bye-election in Delta Central Senatorial district.

According to DAILY TRUST, a statement issued in Lagos on Saturday, by Alhaji Lai Mohammed, APC Interim National Publicity Secretary, said reports from its agents on the field indicate that armed soldiers and policemen were deployed strategically to intimidate voters, while trailers and tankers were used to block the roads leading to opposition strongholds, thereby preventing voting materials from reaching there.

Meanwhile, Osun Defenders have reported that counting has commenced and the PDP candidate, Emmanuel Agwariavwodo, has won five of the eight local councils in the Delta Central Senatorial bye-election.
