Disqualification: Rangers taking CAF to CAS

Nigeria Professional Football League side,Rangers International is taking the Confederation of African Football(CAF) to the Court of Arbitration for Sports(CAS) following it’s disqualification from the Confederations Cup.
Rangers were disqualified from the continental tournament, after they were found guilty for fielding an ineligible player in the game against Tunisian side CS Sfaxien.
Despite appealing the ruling, there were reports that CAF threw out the appeal of the Enugu based side, for lack of merit.
Chairman of Enugu State Football Association , Chidi Ofo Okenwa, said, “We are going to appeal our elimination by CAF at CAS.
“ This is miscarriage of justice. There is no way we are going to rest until we are justifiably heard.
“I describe this as a comic tragedy by CAF in the whole issue of eliminating Rangers from the Confederation cup hence our resolve to seek redress in the Court of Arbitration for Sports,” Okenwa added.
In a statement, General Manager of Rangers, Paul Chibuzor, said they would push on till they get justice: “We are being victimized and CAS remains our only hope for justice,” Chibuzor said.
Are they fighting a lost course?
