Do you think ASUU is being reasonable in asking for salaries owed during the strike period?

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has come out to day that it will not suspend its current strike if it is not paid the four months salaries owed its members.

Furthermore, the union has asked that the FG implement immediately the N1.2trn offer they agreed on, starting with the release of N100bn this year, the balance of N1.1tn to be paid within five years, starting from 2014.

In light of the prevailing circumstances, are these demands reasonable?

3 months pay not 4 months, that's all they can hold the government for. Personally ,I think the government shouldn't pay them anything. They should consider the strike period as unpaid extended leave.

Here we are with our former discussion, Jules :)
personally think ASUU is being unreasonable, petulant and totally irritating with that demand. Anyway, who cares? Last I heard, 60% of their ranks are ready to resume anyway.

A house divided against itself cannot stand. FG should chill...
