News from The Citizen - PHCN workers have threatened to cut the nation’s electricity power and prevent investors from taking possession of the companies if the FG refuses to pay them their full benefits as agreed.

The protests yesterday coincided with the FG’s signing over ownership and handing over of share certificates and operating licenses to PHCN investors. This was done by President Goodluck Jonathan.

The firms privatized are ten distribution companies (DISCOs) and five generation companies (GENCOs).

The PHCN workers carried placards in protest yesterday as they demanded for their benefits.

President Jonathan has informed the protesting workers that work on the agreement isn’t done yet, and urged them to adjust to the current changes they would be experiencing as a result of the reform.
