The North-East zonal cacus of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP has urged former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, not to leave the PDP.
A high powered delegation from North-East PDP made this call when they paid a courtesy visit to Atiku at his at Asokoro residence, in Abuja, on Wednesday. The delegation was led by Senator Lawan Giriigiri,Chairman of the PDP in the North East.
Journalist were barred from the visit, however a source who attended the parley, told correspondents on the condition on anonymity that the former vice president assured his guests that he was still in the PDP and even pledged to render necessary support.
Atiku was said to have spoken when Giriigiri told him jokingly in his opening remarks at the meeting that the North East zone was paying him a visit as they heard he had registered a new party.
Atiku assured them of his loyalty to the PDP and charged them to discountenance media reports about his membership of the Peoples Democratic Movement ,PDM.
