Mrs. Joy Ifijeh, a widow who was recently reproached by the Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole has rejected the N250,000 gift presented to her by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Chief Dan Orbih, Edo state PDP Chairman had launched a Widows Empowerment Programme after the video clip of the governor’s encounter with the widow went viral on facebook and YouTube. The programme seeks to protect widows from harsh government policies.

Ifijeh who had earlier gotten N2million plus instant employment was not present at the launch of an empowerment fund to cater for widows in the state by the state chapter of the PDP.

She is in the limelight now. This is the best time to seize her many opportunities. Rejecting the money isn't a wise move IMO. Edo officials'll just distribute it amongst 'emselves.

Well, we know it is a political thing, this issue is. It is no longer about the widow, but about PDP vs APC. I am sure the terms and conditions for accepting the APC 2million was to refuse PDP's 'token', whenever it came.

Good move by APC there. Wrist drop paralysis (or 'falling of hand') for PDP. Whatever the case, I think the woman's coming out the better. 2million trumps N250k everyday.
