Metro EFCC Operatives Arrested in Kogi

The Nigerian Police have arrested four men pretending to be security operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Kogi State. Jackson Umosen, a member of the group, claimed to be a pastor at the Omega Fire Ministries.

Other members of the group arrested includes: Daniel Njaiji, Samuel Oghebor and Agwai Peter.

The suspects allegedly went to see the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Idah, Matthew Akpata, claiming they were officials of the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja. They claimed to want to inspect some of the school’s ongoing projects. But when the management staff of the institution demanded to see their identity cards, one of the four flashed an EFCC identity card instead. The police were subsequently involved in the matter.

The pastor of the Omega Fire Ministries, claimed that he had been tricked by one of the fraudster to follow him to the Polytechnic in so as to dedicate the project in Edo State.
